A Little Introduction

Hello written in yarn surrounded by crafting and sewing tools

Hello There!

Welcome to my new website! Although some of you know me, many of you might not, so here’s a little introduction. My name is Rebecca Lang. I’m a maker, lover of all things colorful, and I enjoy pretty much any and every craft you can think of! I’m passionate about learning new techniques and ways to express creativity in any possible form. For as long as I can remember, I have always been a creative soul. Painting, drawing, coloring, sewing, crocheting and so much more filled countless hours in my lifetime and brought me a lot of joy.

While these hobbies always brought me joy, I had no idea just how deeply my love of crafting would impact my future (and frankly… save it). In 2010 my life was completely turned upside down when I became suddenly, unexpectedly ill. 12 years and multiple chronic illness diagnoses later, my crafting has been one of the main things that have helped me find my “new normal” and cope with the really difficult situation of becoming disabled. Losing so many aspects of my life and parts of what I felt like made “me” me is a challenging thing to say the least, but creating has stayed a constant beam of brightness and comfort for me.

Making a place to share about my projects, tutorials, and some thoughts from life with chronic illness has been on my to-do list for a very long time. But very true to form of living with chronic illness, every day is a struggle, time passing is weirdly slow motion and rollercoaster speed all at once. Goals and plans and dreams always have a way of taking 3,000 million years longer than they should, because surviving one day at a time has to be the main focus.

The only thing consistent in my life is that my life is inconsistent. Your guess is truly as good as mine as to what frequency blog post and other fun things will happen on this website! It would, however, mean so much to me if you would follow along as I share about my creative endeavors, interesting life tidbits, and anything and everything else in between!

  1. I loved reading this, Rebecca. As much as I have known of the bits and pieces of your illnesses through the years, this gives me a better sense and appreciation of your daily life and what it takes to do “anything”. When I have seen things you have created, I have wondered how you were able to get them done, knowing the likelihood of your daily struggles. Which makes me appreciate them ( and you!) even more. I will look forward to seeing your creations. God bless!!

  2. I’m so excited for this blog and your design ideas. You’re one of the most creative friends I have and I’m here to learn all I can!
